The girls went shopping with Daddy for my birthday presents while I did some grocery shopping. Sweet Girl gave me a stuffed stingray as an "early birthday present" as I met them at the car. We had seen sting rays on TV at Grandmommy's this weekend and Sweet Girl was very interested in them. My little stuffed stingray is so cuddly and soft!
Afterwards, Daddy headed off to do some work related stuff and the girls and I were off to IHOP. I just recently joined the Pancake Revolution club and got a free meal on the spot just for joining and a free birthday meal! I redeemed one of my free meals today.
I decided since it was part of my "week of birthday fun," I'd get something out of the norm. I decided to try IHOP's new Bananas Foster Brioche French Toast. It is made from thick brioche bread that is dipped in a lightly sweetened vanilla batter. Then, each golden piece is topped with a New Orleans Foster’s sauce made from sliced bananas caramelized in a buttery brown sugar glaze. Powdered sugar and whipped topping add the finishing touches. Let me say this. It.was.good.
I had so much fun with the girls just hanging out and enjoying our lunch. They really enjoyed their pancakes and were so well behaved. It was a wonderful lunch. As we left, Sweet Girl told the manager that we were celebrating "mama's birthday today." I am so blessed to have such loving, sweet girls!
