Then, Sweet Girl and I put some cans and such in a bag for the postal carrier to pick up for their "Stamping Out Hunger" campaign. Sweet Girl has a big heart and really enjoys helping people out. We couldn't wait for our fun day to start!
Unfortunately, Love Bug woke with a fever and definitely was not feeling good. I was able to catch Nicole on the phone before she left her house to tell her I had to cancel. She said we could reschedule, she understood my situation and that the kids come first. Nicole has been awesome from the start!
I called my sister and sister-in-law to let them know that we were going to have to reschedule. My sister still wanted to stop by before lunch and drop off some gifts she had for me. So, we went along with our "regular" morning rituals while listening to nature sounds.
I still wanted to make the day fun, so I thought we would go ahead and start our life cycles unit. We read a book about plant life cycles and the girls did the cutest project! I will write another post about that soon.
After that, my sister came. She gave me a fun reusable bag and a cool T-shirt. On the back of the shirt it says "educate" because my sister says I educate everyone. How sweet! For Mother's Day she gave me a cute, handcrafted leather baby shoe key chain.
Later for dinner, Papa Bear grilled hot dogs. We also had some very yummy baked beans and macaroni and cheese. Everything was delicious!
It's been great celebrating my birthday all week. I think everyone should do it!
